Description

This trip gives you an opportunity to explore the picturesque villages of this interesting region, get an insight into their rich history, and taste some of the delicious local specialities at a tourist farm.

The trip also includes a visit to the famous Sečovlje Salt Works, where you will learn about the area's rich history of salt making, and a tour of the famous medieval coastal town of Piran, where you will be allowed time to bathe in the sea.

The tour starts in the village Truške which offers a great view at the seaside. The bikes are waiting for us there.

Our first degustation stop is at Kozlovič olive oil farm in Truške. They will welcome us with a glass of red wine Refošk (Slovenian authentic vine tree) and extra virgin olive oil, homemade bread and garlic.

After degustation we jump on the bikes and begin a descent to the Valley of Dragonja river. Dragonja river is the only Slovenian river that does not flow through the villages. From that point of view it is clean, pure and untouched! We will follow the river to the seaside.

At Sečovlje we will stop and visit Soline (A salt museum!). There is also a shop with different salt products, where we can buy authentic Slovenian sea–salt.

We continue cycling along the shore to Portorož, the most fancy place at Slovenian seaside. A place with very nice hotels and beaches. We will have some free time there to buy souvenirs or we can go swimming in the sea!

From Porotorž there is great cycling path along the coast to Piran. Piran is our last stop. We will have lunch there, and also wine degustation is included. Piran is typical Mediterranean town. It is unique with its architecture and geographical position.

The tour can be extended 1 hour if the guests decide to stay a little longer in Piran.
