Palermo, for its urban structure of Arabic influence, full of narrow streets and alleys, is very suitable for a walking tour. We'll start from Piazza Saint Dominic, visit the Church and Cloister of Saint Dominic. We go on towards the coast and the ancient port ''La Cala''.
To visit Palermo means to visit its outdoor old market Vucciria, immortalized in the famous picture by our sicilian painter Renato Guttuso.
We'll go on to the oldest port of Palermo, called ''La Cala'', focal place of several battles among the many populations that have dominated in the city, and we visit the old area around it.
We'll visit the arabian quartier La Kalsa, created by the Emir when he decide to move there during XI cent. Visit of the Church of Santa Teresa alla Kalsa e Santa Maria della Pietà. Then we'll move to via Alloro, Palazzo Abatellis and visit the beautiful church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Other main points are Santa Maria dello Spasimo, Flea Market, La Magione, La Catena, piazza Magione, via Roma.
In this tour we visit one of the old arabian famous market called Ballarò, where you will have the chance to taste some of our famous ''street food''.
At lunch time you will join our Chef Donna Patricia, who will prepare only for you her best traditional dishes: panelle, sfincione, anelletti al ragu, caponata, served with a good Sicilian wine or other beverage of your choice.
We will conclude with zibibbo wine, sicilian almond biscuits, cassatelle of ricotta cheese and coffee mocha espresso.
